Rudy Niswanger - New Member Bio
Rudy was born and raised in Monroe, La and is a graduate of Ouachita Christian School and from LSU with a degree in Pre - Med and Business.
At LSU, Rudy was one of the most decorated student-athletes in LSU history sweeping all of the major academic awards during 2005-2006 claiming the Draddy Trophy, which is commonly referred to as the "Academic Heisman", the Wuerffel Trophy, which is know as the "Humanitarian Heisman", as well as being named the recipient of the McWorter Award as the SEC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. His senior year he was selected to the 2005 All-SEC team. He was a two-time First Team Academic All-American and a three-year starter on the offensive line for the Tigers.
Rudy graduated from LSU with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and has been accepted to LSU Medical School in Shreveport after scoring in the top 8 percent nationally on the medical entrance exam.
Following his graduation from LSU, Rudy played for the Kansas City Chiefs for five seasons. On the field, Rudy played in 47 games during his career, starting 31 times at Center, and was the Chiefs players representative with the NFL Players Association.
While in Kansas City, Rudy and his wife, Patricia participated in several charitable efforts supporting the "First Downs for Down Syndrome" as a board member and spokesperson and served as a board member for the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired in Kansas City. They also currently serve as board members of Pro Athletes Outreach ministry organization.
After retirement from the NFL he currently serves as the third generation of ownership and CEO of The Joe Gear Companies, which is comprised of Consolidated Truck Parts & Service in Monroe and Shreveport, Many Gear and Axle in Many; MTP Drivetrain Services in Many, La, Aksa Power Generation USA located in West Monroe, and JAT Power South America located in Miami, Florida.
He and his wife Patricia have four children: Emory, and twins Ava Grace and John Carter and Noah and they attend Edgewood Reformed Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.
